The 13th International Conference on Shot Peening (ICSP13), hosted by the University of Montreal, was held from September 18th to 21st, 2017, in Montreal, Canada. Organized by the International Scientific Committee for Shot Peening, the event brought more than 200 representatives from around the globe. This conference is regarded as the most influential gathering in the field of surface peening technology.

During the conference, organizers reviewed publication data for the field. Professor Jiang Chuanhai of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was recognized as the world's leading contributor, having published 51 papers. Additionally, the International Pellet Academic Committee selected two new members during the proceedings, including Professor Jiang Chuanhai, further appreciating his leadership in the global shot peening community.
