In alignment with China’s national strategy to strengthen manufacturing and driven by Dongfang Turbine’s “1458” Smart Manufacturing Plan (2021-2025), the company has adopted a phased approach to automation, digitization, and intelligence. Following the success of unmanned machining demonstrations, Dongfang Turbine has achieved another breakthrough: the official launch of its Robotic Automatic Sandblasting System.

On July 1, 2021, inside the control room of the Diaphragm Division, an operator initiated the system with a single button press. The blasting chamber sealed automatically, and the robot commenced precision sandblasting on turbine diaphragms without any manual intervention. The entire process was fully enclosed, effectively containing dust within the chamber.
