Cut wire shot is available in a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Among these, carbon steel and stainless steel cut wire are most frequently used as media for shot peening and shot blasting. As the name suggests, the manufacturing process involves cutting high-quality wire into cylindrical segments of consistent length.

Pellets used for shot peening or peen forming must be conditioned (rounded). This is achieved by striking the pellets against a hardened steel plate for a set duration. The more frequently the pellets impact the plate, the higher the quality of their sphericity.

Conditioned cut wire shot is typically classified into three grades:

       - G1: CCW (Conditioned Cut Wire) – Single pass rounding.

       - G2: DCCW (Double Conditioned Cut Wire) – Double pass rounding for improved sphericity.

       - G3: SCCW (Special Conditioned Cut Wire) – Triple pass rounding for a near-perfect spherical shape.
